C85-12 engine needed
OK, I bought my 1946 Aeronca 7AC; and now I want to add a C85-12 so I can add a starter and battery using the Lasher STC. Any clues as to where I start locating a C85-12?

First off, Welcome on board! Using a first name would be nice, we are a friendly group here.
Ebay has them from time to time but be careful there. Also Barnstormers has them often.

I've found the best deals locally. Find out where the vintage airplane people hang out and ask around.

Re: C85-12 engine needed
Just an update on my engine. I found a used C85-12, bought it, as is, and I am now helping my A&P put the overhauled engine together and it is really fun. Took the advice of many seasoned Champ owners and bought a new O-200 crank, new cylinders, piston, rings, etc. I also found a Marvel Schebler recently overhauled carb, so the engine not only looks good (we put all four cylinders on today) but it will perform well. If I get it ready, and I think I will, I will see everyone at Middletown in June.

Where did you get your cylinders from?
Keep the pointed end forward--

My mechanic bought them for me. I know they are new ECI cylinders, but I don't know where he got them.

Re: C85-12 engine needed
I bought new ECI nickel cylinders (0200) from DART in Texas. The price was $888 but the shipping was free. I had to buy the wrist pin though. I think the price was about $35 for the pin. Basically the prices seem to be about the same no matter where you get them, other than the shipping.
