My Stromberg carb has croaked after 250 hour since total rebuild. Rather than rebuilding it again, I want to go to a Marvel Schebler. I need a MA-3SPA, Part number 10-4240-1 for my C-85. I am looking for a core. If I am unable to find a 4240, I would like to find a core with part number 10-4894-1 (for an O-200). That core can be converted to a 4240.
I have tried all of the salvage outfits without success. I think my best bet is to try to find one from one of my fellow Aeronca drivers.
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Re: WANTED: Marvel Schebler Carb
I purchased a rebuilt 10-4894-1 from A.E.R.O. and had it converted. You could also call Tempest or Volare Carburetors LLC.7DCDRIVER wrote:My Stromberg carb has croaked after 250 hour since total rebuild. Re: WANTED: Marvel Schebler Carb
Good luck. I spent about 2 months calling all around the country; then I got lucky. I dealer in Hollywood FL had a rebuilt Marvel Schebler but it cost almost $2,000 since I had no core. But it is beautiful!

Re: WANTED: Marvel Schebler Carb
In my discussions with Volare I believe you can purchase a brand new one for less than $2,000 from a Volare distributor. The list price is $2,800 and Volare told me they sell nothing at list.RRHaldeman wrote:Good luck. I spent about 2 months calling all around the country; then I got lucky. Volare has my 10-4240-1 troubleshooting a fuel leak through the throat.
It is worth a call.
