C-2N Project Up-date

I just finished all repairs and sprucing up of the wings. I'll start moving the plane to Arlington (WA) airport for the final assembly. Grass runway and lots of open space for potential landings.

It'll be good to see it with the wings on. And then there's the taxi tests. The engine sounds really good.

I'll post some better pictures when it really starts looking like an airplane again!

I got the left wing moved tonight. NO Induced rash from the transport!!!!!!

No deal yet still dealing with Ed on the Tri-Champ I flew to Middletown. Although Ed's easy to deal with.... it my live in girlfriend who won't release the funds just yet.

I got the rest of the plane moved today! I hope to hang the wings tomorrow night.

I actually made the move without damaging anything. Next to zero in on the aileron repair.

Well the wings are on and the wires are tight. I still have to do the final rigging. The tail feathers are also on.

I'm finding some hardware that I want to replace. There a few Phillips head screws that I need to replace with some slotted truss head hardware.

I still have a damaged left aileron that I need to finish. I hope to make new skins next week. I have another from a Master, that I'll put on the the meantime to finish the rigging.

I haven't done any taxi tests yet. I want all the controls. That's a big wing for a 428 lb airplane. It'll be fun with a rudderbar and toe brakes. It has cub brakes that were install 40+ years ago. The tail wheel is full swivel/non-steerable. At some point I'm going to put a skid back on it, just to try it out. I think it was Jim Hammond that had a skid on his C-3 at Middletown 4 years ago.

All that's left for mine is a repair to the left aileron (I have a spare that will probably get painted and installed) and the installion of the windscreen. I spent a week in Hood River helping in the restoration shop of the WAAAM Museum, working with Tom Murphy.
