Rear Control Stick Cover

Post by akchamp »

My Champ is set up with an extended baggage compartment, but when I take the back seat out, I'd like to be able to cover the rear stick holder. I see in an older post that Dusty suggested using a piece of blueboard with a cutout area to cover the stick holder and extend the usable flat-surface foor area, but I'd like something I could also use when the seat is installed just to prevent anything from finding its way into the hole and dropping below the floorboard. I know there are leather/vinyl boots made to fit around the stick base, but I'd like an alternative. Any ideas or pictures would be appreciated. Thanks.

You can make an aluminum box to fit over the socket and hole in the floor, and screw it down to the floorboard. I don't have a picture of mine right now, but it's a great mod, opens up a lot of floor. You won't worry about things interfering with the stick or the socket.

I used a stainless steel bowl and cut out enough for the cable to exit at the rear. Itty bitty screws hold it firmly in place to te wood floor.
