Wanted C85/O200 Cylinder

Post by Paul Agaliotis »

If anyone has a cylinder they are looking to sell I'm in the market. I need a standard bore.

Paul,

I see a guy in California much of the time advertising cylinders on Ebay. Thompson is the name I seem to remember?

Might look there and see if he has a standard sized tagged cylinder laying around.

Joe,
Randy is the first person I tried to contact. He must be out of town or my contact information is wrong. I think he does the best work on these little engines, I've had work done in the past with excellent results.
I had a leaky intake valve, those are nothing to fool around with. I snatched the cylinder off and pulled my spare which was a +.015, oops. I dropped a few spares off locally and they should be done early next week. I thought if someone had a STD cylinder I could save some time. We have another check ride coming up in the L16 and the 7AC is scheduled. Looks like I need to buy some more airplanes.

Sage advise! :)

If you find a good source for O-200 cylinders please let us know. Mine are ok (that I know of) but are getting to the point hour wise that having spares might be a good idea.

Joe,
The local guy charges $250 plus parts, generally about $400 per cylinder total. Randy is about the same price. Continental new cylinders are about $820 and ECI goes for about $750. I told them if the costs get too high for rebuild I would just buy a new one.
