Mixture control location for 1946 7ac

Post by NC86036 »

My friend is restoring a 1946 7ac, and wants to install a mixture control on the A65. Does anyone have one installed on theirs? If so, where is the optimum location for the control to be mounted in the cockpit? Does anyone have pics they can email or post? Thanks

Robert,

I have a 1946 7AC but it now has a C85 O-200 conversion and a Marvel Schebler carburetor so I needed a mixture control - not so with a Stromberg. I have a photo of the panel showing placement of the mixture control. If you read the recent thread I posted about N83729 Ready to Fly, I list a photo bucket website where you can see the panel. Otherwise, give me your email address abnd I can send you a copy of the photo.

I have an O-235 in my Champ and the mixture is mounted just below the panel forward of the throttle. Hard to discribe......But the builder made a little bracket that has the carb heat, mixture, and cabin heat all mounted with pull cables.
