Need a ferry pilot

Post by jeichenberger »

Anyone know a pilot who could ferry a 7AC Champ from Oklahoma to Ohio?

I just bought a Champ, but it's been too long since I was truly tailwheel current for me to attempt the flight myself.

Jerry,

Look at the post below in the Services section. "Tailwheel and fabric spoken here"

Tony Markl does this and has forgotten more about flying than most of us know! I just called him and he has been out of town for a bit but returning later tonight.

Hi Jerry,

From what airport in Okla. to what airport in Ohio? What's the latest date you would have to have it? I bought a Chief in NY in December several years ago. I know it took about 6 weeks to finally get a weather window of opportunity to bring it the full distance without undue delay along the way. Roger

What's the N number of the champ you bought? My first A/C was a Champ when I was going to Spartan. It's still in that area. N1136E

To those who asked -

I'm reluctant to give too many details at the moment, because the airplane is being sold out of an estate, and the paperwork will take a couple more weeks, at the bare minimum, to allow the sale to be fully closed.

Hence, since I'm still "on the bubble" a bit, with only a hearty deposit in the seller's hands, let's leave it at that for now.

Airplane wouldn't be coming to central Ohio early January at the earliest.
Thanks,

Jerry,

Hope it works out and "keep your cards close to your chest" until everything is finalized. Make sure you do a good title search before signing everything.

Saw where Tony Markl emailed you on the fAA group. Did you get back to him? He has lots of Champ time and could get the plane home safely for you.
