bulkhead and stringer glue

Guys, have a wood worker doing my windows and bulkheads and wants to know the best/easiest glue to use?.. He is worried about the old hyde glue and many new glues will not adhere to this. probalby worried about nothing and everyone said use any good wood glue. Someone here has tried all so opinions? After glue and getting ready to install I need to be sure to varnish well--correct? Thanks ron

We've been using West Systems epoxy. Works good and easy to use.

building bulkheads and replacing wood--question in the drawings of the frame work (fairings) there are no braces between the upper stringers or between the bulkheads. When I tore this one apart the were 3-4 pieces of plywood with a cut out for the top tube keeping the t-stringers apart and also 3 pieces of 1/2x3/4 at each bulkhead at the middle t-stringer keeping that from squeezing the stringers in. I hope this makes sense(This should be clear as mud). Are these little stiffners normal (necessary)or were they installed by the last guy that covered the plane? the plane was cover with cotton if that would make any difference to keep the cotton from twisting the fairing? I made a mistake the middle stringer is not a T and that is where the 1/2 3/4 pieces are located at each bulkhead? sorry for the confusion. Ron

another question--somewhere I saw pictures of someone making the T-stringers now can't find it. had pictures of the cuts and router making the to[p bevel. wanted to show it to the wood worker. tried search but no luck someone has to remember. thanks Ron

Thanks Don, looked at so much stuff lately it is a fog!!!! Have a AI recovering and he has done many Pipers yet has questions on the Champ. I added 5 gal wing tanks and light fixtues on the wing and tail-so we looked up that. Have a wood worker(that wants to fly it) helping (perfectionist) that is asking about stringers wants to change everything. So, I have looked at this and another web site til it is all a haze. I see this stuff and then can't remember where.

After adding the tanks and last night saw a post where Wag Areo sent the wrong tubing with another guys kit! Great now I'll have to find that one to show the AI. Did I right it down?? %#$ NO. So I'll be trying to find that one again

I picked up the engine yesterday and next questions will be about the starter alt choices. I think I am going with the skytec starter and the B&C atlernator(light weight) one-if I can get it approved. I have looked at a bunch of post on this subject and will have to review them to satisfy myself I'm going the correct way.
