I've been watching TV and reading the newspaper this morning before heading out to Sunday services. 10 years ago I was driving the special ed bus when one of the mothers told me to turn on the radio. She said a plane hit a building in New York. Just as I turned it on the second plane hit....I finished my route and stayed glued to the TV for the rest of the day. Much of our life style has changed by neccessity since that day. On the other hand, as a country we have generally prevailed if not without some 'growing pains' and life goes on.

Sitting in the cockpit in NYC waiting for our departure. Copilot comes running up front of the jet and says "shut everything down, you really need to come inside and see this!"

I do and just as I get inside the terminal see the second airplane hit the buildings. My first thoughts were Bin Laden did this.... as I had just left Saudi Arabia a couple of years earlier and was the Security Officer for McDonnell Douglas aircraft while there. We knew he was going to do something but had no idea what... now we knew.

I was doing a check ride for a guy in his new RV6.

Similar to Joe, we got down, his phone rang - it was his wife saying turn the TV on - an aeroplane has just hit the World Trade Centre.

As we turned the TV on, the second aeroplane hit.
