7AC Electrical System

Post by cfpenn »

Does anyone know if it's reasonably possible to get a light weight electrical system approved for a 7AC?

I'm hoping to be able to also install a B&C alternator in addition to the batt and starter, comm, lights. I have the O-235 C1 engine conversion. Any approvals?

I would check with Sky Tech regarding their lightweight starter and their STC for the electical controls.

I'm interested in learning more about what American Champion provided to you. Did they provide drawings or other documentation specifically for applying an electrical system to an Aeronca 7AC aircraft? Is it the system that American Champion Aircraft currently installs in their new Champ? Do they specifically indicate that the system can be retrofitted to Aeronca 7AC aircraft? Any additional information that you can provide would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hello, they provided me with prints on file for 7dc , 7ec ,7eca. All of these are on orignal T.C. Very nice full size prints. as noted on print per aircraft. I beleave your still have to have a 337. At least its stright from TC holder!!! My I.A. was good with it and said we should have no problems. So any other questions feel free to call me (574) 372 9805. J D holbrook . Warsaw IN.

But does that work with the Lycoming 235? To my thinking you'd need the Wagner STC for that.

I think that you're right about that. I do have the STC for the O-235
