I have two Champ data plates that don't correspond to any registered airplanes. A friend of mine at the FAA (yes, they can be nice and friendly) has looked into the history as far as he can and now it is up to the Aeronca community. Does anyone know anything about these Champs? Even though the data plates have no existing airplanes behind them, I would like to give them to whoever owned them last if they want a keepsake.
The first is serial number 7AC-1927 which my FAA friend determined might be N83263. The other is serial number 7AC-2187 which he thinks might be N83516. Okay Aeronca detectives, the rest is up to you!
