Super Chief Restoration

Post by MikeB »

I've come to the conclusion that it's much more difficult to disassemble a Chief rather than a Champ. Took forever to get the firewall and boot cowl off as it's tough to work under the dash and around the yoke rather than a stick, especially with toe brakes. On the other hand it might be my 73 year old body doesn't bend like it used to. Anyway, things are progressing on getting the frame down to the basics. So far things are looking pretty good although I swear some of the fabric is 1948 original. I'd post pictures but I think the posting part of this site is still locked up or full.
