LDG to Fuselage Fairing

Mike, I am looking for a paper copy of the aluminum fairing that has 3 sheet metal screws on the outside and inside of the landing gear Vee channel that fills the 1 inch gap at the top of the Vee to the fuselage. It covers up the 2 - 3/8" bolts that mount the upper portion of the Vee to the fuselage. It looks to be about 3 to 4" high and wraps around the upper front of the Vee and goes behind the rear 3/8" bolt area. The ones I saw at Oshkosh looked like about .020" this aluminum. I have seen a couple on champs but mostly the 11AC had them. Just about have 30 hours on it in the last few weeks. Maybe Jerry and I can get over there this or next saturday if his kids go back to Vegas.............Gordy in MN

Are they the same for both the fabric and the metal farings? Sound like maybe not. However, the Club Champ does have the fabric covers over the landing gears. All the others are aluminum as far as I know.

Mike, I don' t know if there ever was a factory made fairing for the aluminum covered Vee. I took several pictures of a few chiefs and several sedans that a similar fairing like those on PA12 Super Cruisers. ......................Gordy in Mn

Gordy, I have the aeronca drawings for the top fairings on the chief that you are looking for, I made the fairings for my chief. I havnt located them yet, but when I do I will get it to you.
