wheel spats

Post by Dennis »

Does anyone have a spat and mount, damaged or otherwise, that I can borrow to copy?

Thanks, Dennis

Dennis,
If you ever get a drawing for a these let me know. Don't look like they'd be too hard to make.

I had a set of the LaTour fenders on my Champ when I first bought it in '85. I thought they were butt ugly and one of the first things I did was to remove them and sell them. Now I wish I would have kept them, not that I would ever put them back on, but I have some pictures that they were on my plane for many years before I owned it. And they weren't in the greatest shape either.

James,

Thanks for the correct name of the fenders. La Tour. I agree, they are butt ugly but I am interested in keeping the wings clean without putting on wheel pants.

Also have seen them referred to as Consolidair Model 17 wheel fenders.
