My Champ is on the market
I just posted a listing in Barnstormers for my Champ. If you know someone looking for one you might give them a heads up. I'm not sure I'm totally happy about this, kind of feels like taking your pet to the kennel to give up for adoption. I'm selling it because I got my medical back and bought a Citabria. Can't afford two of these things.

Hey Larry,
If you sell the Champ and the buyer does not want the skis, let me know, especially if they are A-1500As. I am looking for a set for my 7CCM.

I'm trying to find out if I can get away with using them on the Citabria (gw 1650). If I can and they don't go with the Champ I might hang on to them a while. I'd have to build new rigging and put ski tabs on the Citabria though so I guess nothing I say can be used against me because it might change.

There are quite a few sets on Barnstormers for sale. Unless you are looking for a bargain basement price, they are all priced reasonably. I have a set to sell but I have WAY more in them then I will ever get for them so I may just hang onto them. I had a hard time finding a set under $1,000 that was in decent shape. Then I spent a bit of cash getting them stripped, painted, and UHMV installed. The plastic was widened to 12" making them the size of 2000's. New rigging/bungee cord and the price gets almost to the point I could (should) have bought new ones from Aero-Ski and saved the labor costs.

Another option if someone is looking for a Champ is on a previous posting of mine on this thread (Two Champs). They're in Barney, North Dakota. One is a project but the other is supposed to be running/flying (??) Don't know much about them but maybe worth a call.

Thanks Mike, I will forward the info to the club. Not sure they really want a project since that is what they do for a living.
This club is just getting started and they are limited in what they can buy. I think they said they have around 10 members commited. They are planning $3,000 buy in for each member and hope to find something around $27,000 leaving $3,000 for 'other' expenses.
They are a great group of mostly younger guys wanting to get into aviation. Actually a couple guys have planes but want something else to fly also. Look at this site: www.aircorpsaviation.com and most of the guys in the sites pictures are the members. They all are workers for the 'dream job'......they rebuild/restore WWII aircraft. I think one of the last one's they did won Grand Champion last year at Oshkosh. generalaviationnews.com/2011/09/08/restoring-twilight-tear
If any of you are up in the area they open their doors every friday afternoon for visitors. They are always open to give anyone a tour of their projects. Like I stated earlier, they are a great group of down home country boys.
