Aeronca L-3 landing gear springs.

I have a friend who has a L-3 with one oleo spring 1" longer than the other,one is 12''long. Where can he find a L-3 Spring? Also is there anyone in particular that is a "L-3" expert on info he has not found anybody who can tell him much about his airplane.We are wondering if someone put a 7AC spring on oneside of his gear.

Not an expert.,but have owned my L-3 for 27 years flown it 1300 hrs or so. Also rebuilding another one at present. What info do you need? Dick
