Chief Brakes
I know next to nothing about these brakes. The good one (relatively speaking) is squeaking. Should I be alarmed?
Re: Chief Brakes
I assume you have the original mechanical heal brakes? There is a trick to adjusting them. You need to find a mechanic that really knows how and that can inspect them for you. I am not a fan of using much braking, if any at all, on these airplanes, but for taxi and run-up you have to.

Re: Chief Brakes
Nobody around here knows anything about the Chief. I think this one is the only flying example within 100 miles.
Yes, stock heel brakes. One of them was mis- adjusted, and we sort of fixed it by lengthening the cable sheath. I am hoping to find a way to go Grove - at least I understand them. Problem is - where does the master cylinder go? I have converted the mechanical 7AC - easy, in comparison.
I agree on the brakes. They are only needed when a hold line looms. Good thing; there are no brakes on my side!
