I live in Manhattan and Sag Harbor, New York and keep planes at East Hampton, Warwick and Orange County (NY) airports as well as a seaplane in Fort Edward, New York.
Where in Connecticut are you?

Re: CT,MA,RI,NY,NJ Members?
I live in Norwalk during the week (work in Port Chester, NY) and spend most weekends in West Hartford. Have planes in Plainville (4B8) and Meriden (MMK) via my club (Skyhawk & Archer). Occasionally rent a 150 out of DXR and Cubs out of GBR for fun. Looking to hopefully buy something in the next year or two - with our club being relatively cheap, I would be wasting money buying something practical like the Archer for how often I need it and how cheap I can get it through my club. Therefore, I will be looking to get into something affordable and fun, with the Champ and Chief on my radar, along with the 120/140, Taylorcraft, and Cubs.
There's actually a Champ I can rent up in Sterling, MA so I can try one on for size and see if I prefer it over the Cub (seems likely due to the front seat soloing and slight more room). Will be getting some time in a 140 down near Philly for the same reason - seeing if I like to fly them. Got about two hours in a 140 over in Australia last winter and it is pretty decent.
We'll need to meet up some time to grab lunch somewhere as it sounds like we probably fly in a lot of the same areas.
What do you have for aircraft?

Actually, I believe we've talked before - on the Beech forum. You have a Sierra, right?

Re: CT,MA,RI,NY,NJ Members?
Yep ........... That is me.
I owned a Cessna 140 and was very disappointed with its lack of performance. If you decide on one, I suggest you look at the Rag Wing models, which have better power to wing loading, but make sure that the fabric is in good shape and like any fabric plane it is best to hanger it. Have found the same to be true with Ercoupes having the same engine. I prefer the Aeronca Champ over the Cub, for both of the reasons you gave, though I do like Super Cubs.
I have owned a 7CCM Champ (I love the C-90) and a 11BC Chief (with a Don's Dream Machine C-85 conversion) on Floats, but at the moment I only am a partner in an Aeronca Sedan on Floats. I own a Cessna 340A Ram Conversion, but everything else I have available to me are planes that I have a position in of various forms. They include the Sierra, a Cessna 150/172 and 182 and an ASK-21 Glider.
We should pick an airport with food and meet for lunch. My e-mail is RKittine@aol.com and my cell phone no. is 631-374-9652

Maybe Warwick New York or Sussex New Jersey that has a dinner on the field and is pilot friendly.
