High Oil Pressure

Post by 80driver »

I've seen many posts where guys are having problems with low oil pressure but haven't seen anything on high oil pressure. Mine runs pretty much at redline or slightly above even when the temps are high. I have not checked the accuracy of the OP guage but planning on doing that soon. Wondering if there is a way to reduce the OP if we find the gauge is accurate. This is on the A-65. Thanks.

The oil pressure relief valve on the A-65 is the means by which the oil pressure is adjusted up or down. Never heard of too much oil pressure, but removing the cap to the valve and checking to see if additional washers have been installed between the spring and the plunger valve. removing one or two washers will reduce the pressure.
