7EC for sale

Post by Jon B. »

Guys & Dolls:

Mrs. B. and I need more room! The Champ needs to turn into a Sedan or a 108-3 (or, if I could steal one, a C-170B). These are listed in order of preference.

The MMO seems to have cured the engine roughness and, if I leave the oil level below 4 (I have a filter, too) on the stick, it stays in the engine.

That said, I'll be selling a really nice 1958 Champion 7FC/EC. This is not an LSA-eligible model. Gross weight is 1450; 513 useful. 26 gallon wing tanks. C-90-12 with full electric for day/night VFR (no strobes or beacon, though).

The tach reads about 94 SMOH and rebuild. New spars, struts (Univair), cover (Poly-Fiber/Poly-Tone), interior (Air-Tex fabric), prop (Sens. 76AK-2-42). Cleveland wheels & disc brakes - new in '99. 7.00 tires. Scott 3200. King 760 comm. AT Xpdr with blind encoder. hard-wired intercom. New ELT at rebuild. Powder-coated frame, gear, seat frames & controls. July '05 annual. Auto gas STC. Zeftronics solid-state regulator. Pending approval for 8.50 tires; the papers have been submitted to FSDO.

$30k - pretty firm. Hangared in central Minnesota.

Federal 1500 skis available with or after sale, for additional $1k. These have wider bottoms and dolly wheels. No-Bounce rigging.

Got a Sedan to trade? How 'bout a Station Wagon - no, not a Ford Country Squire!

Wellllll...

After a month of mental gymnastics, I've been convinced - quite a bit by
myself - that selling my Champ would be a huge mistake. I've been
attending a few fly-in breakfasts and visiting some friends; using their hay
fields, driveways and private strips. I'd have a hard time doing the latter with
most 4-place taildraggers, so Mrs. B. and I have decided to hang on to '57B
and somehow 'get along' with two seats and limited baggage.

Thanks for your interest, y'all! I think I'd have had a major case of seller's
remorse had I parted with it.

Thanks, Joe!

I just recalled that I had promised to pass on a couple of new field approvals for the collection. I have a Zeftronics generator controller (20A) approved as well as the 8.50 tires. To whom and where shall I deliver copies? I can scan them and deliver electronically - probably as a jpeg file.

Hmmm... Can these messages be "cross-posted" to multiple forums (fora)?
