joea: Aircraft Spruce has it. It's called Pro-seal. #09-38500, but check catalogue for the amount you may need.
Coat the rod and bore of cork and assemble. Apply even coat ot outside of cork and smooth out with a brush soaked in water or fingers and spit. It will take over night to cure. Really stinky, sticky disgusting product to work with until you get the hang of it, but works excellent. You may find all kinds of uses for it. One example that I did was drill my plastic jerry can at the back of the handle, drop in copper wire to the bottom of the tank. The extra wire is wrapped around the handle. I touch the plane with one hane on the can handle and the other to the aircraft before fueling. Proseal was used where the wire comes out of the plastic can. 10 years ant it still holds pressure.

ps Due to the extra weight of sealant, you should recalibrate the gauge.
