Weight & Balance of Aeronca 11CC

Post by n4125e »

Can anyone supply me with information about computing the weight and balance of my 11CC useing a caliberated scales. I will need the formula and chart to compute both the normal and utility categories. Also, the normal empty weight, useful load, baggage compartment and the total maximum weight of my 11CC will be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks.

First let's start here: TCDS A-796 from the Aeronca.com site

http://www.aeronca.com/TCDS/A-796.pdf

I will look into a xls file to compute the weight & blance but this is what needs to be done.

Weight of Chief empty on 3 scales with it sitting in level flight attitude, this can be checked with level on floor in both directions side to side & front to back.

Just like the Chief, weigh your Champ on a set of scales while in level attitude (for/aft and left/right on the floor boards).

Then plug the weights into this on-line calculator. (You might have to change the security settings on your computer to use the calc.)

Take a look here:

Like the last post use 3 scales, if you do not have a set check with your
local EAA chapter or AI. The plane needs to be empty of fuel, baggage
GPS ect, level to get a true empty weight. Also make list of any items that are fixed to the aircraft.

Now do the math
