Fuel tank gauge lenses

Post by joea »

Everyone,

Jody Wittmeyer just called and mentioned that he has someone who is making some of the glass lenses for the rear fuel tank on the Chief.

Price is very reasonable, about $2.00 each. Price is not confirmed and may be cheaper but this is a ballpark estimate.

The gent that Jody has to make these can also make other glass lenses of just about any size, he just needs the dimentions or a piece to copy. These would work on a Chief or Champ.

Jody will not be on the internet for another day or two, but anyone interested can pls email him directly or put a post here.

Fly safe!

Joe

Who is stuck in sunny Montreal now and just got rated in the new Challenger 605 yesterday. Feels funny to be one of only 20 people in the world to be licensed to fly a new airplane. Cannot wait to fly the real thing and not just the simulator!

Joe--

I'm stuck in sunny hot Georgia and am only one of 7 to be currently rated to fly a S-65-C Chief. Now if I can get it out of the hanger and in the air I will feel better. :) :)

Ah the simulator.... So did you do some of those 'confidence building' maneuvers like loops, and half rolls on takeoff?

Doug,

I would love to be flying my Chief now but been on the road since late in May and not home until probably 1 July.

Nathan,

No rolls or such on takeoff but rarely had both engines running, so yes, it was the simulator! To tell the truth it was not as bad as a normal rating as its pretty much just a differences course that concentrated on the different avionics.
