NC Numbers

Post by Nathan K. Hammond »

Hey fellers,

Did Champs/Chiefs really come with "NC" numbers or were they "N" numbers from the factory. Looking through some old aeronca photos and they all show "N......"

I'm curious how they came from the factory. Thanks

They did come with NC#####, look on Ebay under Aeronca and you should see
some old ads for the aeronca with the NC## on the bottom of one & top of the other wing. Also small NC ### with logo on tail.

also take a look at your FAA CD and it will have the factory forms showing NC###???

Also look at this:

They were stenciled on--nothing fancy. NC on top and numbers on bottom. The up and down (vertical) lettering isn't correct.

On another topic--what iis the lowest 7AC serial number out there? Who has the oldest?

Still looking for a Chief control wheel.

My serial #1808. Got my wings covered and taping now. Can't get my wife to iron the tape. What a boring job plus you got to do it three time!!!!

Serial Numbers

Dudes, I have N81939, serial 7AC-564, built Jan 11, 1946 if I remember correctly. I have heard of quite a few flying older than mine. It's in pieces now, sort of like Nathan's....HeHe
