Guess this fits someplace, but it's an anniversary of sort.........50 years ago today (May 30th, 1957) I joined the USAF. I was 18 years old and had hardly been off my Wisconsin farm. Basic training at San Antonio, Tx. Raised in a rather quiet family, what a shock when the TI started yelling

at 5:00 am and I hadn't even done anything wrong yet !! Trained as a diesel mechanic with stints at Truax Field and Northern Michigan....then finally the DEW line at St. Lawrence Island in Alaska. My flying didn't amount to much other than a few trips in C47's and C123's, but kindled a life long desire to learn to fly which I didn't accomplish that until I was over 40 due to school, house, kids, etc.
Time goes by in a hurry when you're having fun, though. Hope I can finish my L16 before I run out of time
