Firewall/Boot Cowl seal

...did you use anything (maybe rubber striping) to seal the firewall to the boot cowl
to prevent fumes and whatever from entering the cabin?

nope. But it's not a bad idea, all though during the annual inspection you'll split the boot cowl and then you'd have to clean off al lthe old and apply new RTV. Or at least fittle with the seal to get it into place.

The joint between the firewall and bootcowl is fairly tight, and shouldn't let much if any CO2 in. You'll get more slipping in around the gear attach fittings and tailpost.

Better be safe Jim, and remove the door before flight.
