Another Cowl Question
Another Cowl Question
Good evening, I am finishing a 1939 65CA project and tried to use a 65LA cowl but it seems to be about 2" to short at the rear from the boot cowl and the upper cowl bumps has no clearance for the plugs. Can I use an 11AC upper & lower cowl with nose bowl and will they fit okay to the firewall etc? I give up on the old bug eye cowl for the Continental as I cannot find any salvagable. I am ready at the paint shop but on hold for a cowl. Thanks

Rock,
My '38 has the 11AC nose bowl. The top and bottom look to be hand fabricated to the required length. The bottom is secured to a ring welded around the motor mount with Adel clamps. This airplane originally had an open cowl and the rear mounting could differ on yours.
