I have an excuse
. Just finished mowing about 10 acres of grass at the airport. Too windy to fly and I'm out of parts and (probably) $$$$ on the L16 project so I had to find something aviation related to do. Belt jumped off the deck three times (as Pa Kettle used to say "Gotta fix that one of these days 
).

I have been flying! 
The last six months have been using the Sedan to commute to work. Its about 300 miles by car or 2.5 hours by airplane. Had to take a car this time as we are relocating the jet to a different location and I have airline home.
Up at 04:00, out the door just after 6 am and made it to SoCal by 10:30. On the ground now at the destination but the bed is really calling my name for a nap.
Had really forgotten how much I hate the drive. So many idiots on the roads and the worst are those who sit in the left land going less than the speed limit. Arghhh....

I am in bewteen mowing also--the runway this time--letting the other 25 acres of fescue go to seed this year--got a good stand. Been doing that for 40 years--it reseeds itself and if we get enough rain cuts expenses. The runway is a combination of fescue, bermuda, bluegrass, weeds and clover Red & white). And just bumpy enough to keep the training wheels out that are used to slick and smooth runways. I equipped my 182 to handle the bumps and have 7:00x6's on the Champ. Anyone is welcome in tailwheels and emergencies. Even had a sailplane or two.

I just as well be hanging out at the local "dead pecker bench" tellin lies & waiting for my SSI check to direct deposted, cause the state has just cut my pay, gone up AGAIN on my insurance , and took my longevity pay. And they think I'm still gonna work as hard ha ha ha
ha ha ha
Was looking forward to flying this afternoon till the thunder storms rolled in. May be tomorrow the weather will be ok for the flyin to Owens filed in Columbia SC

Here in this part of Texas, we have lots of misquite trees, they have long razor sharp needles, sharp enough to play a record with, (remember them?) have to get out and spray em with roundup mixed with diesel, then I can hook-up the ol' 8N shred the field, keep em down for a while, when I get a flat, I know it's time to go after them again. BTW anyone from central or north Texas going to the Texas Antique Aircraft Association fly-in at old Ranger Field in Ranger Tx. next Saturday 23 May ? Jack
