portable transfer tank

I have a friend that has a 50 gal fuel tank with hose and 12v motor for sale. He used it for on-road diesel.

My question is this: Would it be hard to clean this tank and system so that I could run 87 or 100LL thru it?

Do not see why not. One thing to be careful of is that fuel transfer pump is designed to be used with diesel, which is a light lube oil. Gasoline is not and probably needs a different type of pump.

I have thought of getting something like this several times.
