Attention:
Contrary to what was recently reported, in issue 10-4 of the April 2005 issue of the Aeronca Aviator. This 1947 Aeronca Chief was NOT restored by PROFFESIONAL, Renowned Aircraft restorer Mr. Densel Williams. The absolute truth is that NC3469E (1947 Aeronca Chief) was restored by members of EAA Chapter 304 of Jackson, Michigan. We will forever be grateful to the dedicated members of Chapter 304 who spent hours with me seeing this project finished.
Special thanks go to:
Russ Borton - Past President - Chapter 304 (Deceased)
Wayne Crawford - Fabric expert. (Spent untold hours with me.)
Jeff Perkins - Metal fabricator
(Expert on the English wheel)
Earl Scott - President of Chapter 304.
Tom McInerney
Jay Cavender - A/I - AP
Butch Walsh
and many members of Chapter 304 that helped in many ways.
The editor of The AERONCA AVIATOR was only reporting what he had been told by Professional restorer Mr. Densel Williams.
Anyone seeking more information about the actual restoration of NC3469E, Please by all means contact me personally.
