RH brakes on a '46 Chief 11AC

Post by radiotek »

Is there a conversion kit/STC available for adding brakes to the right side of a '46 11AC? I'd be willing to keep the Goodyear mechanical brakes and/or heel pedals but really would like to have brakes on the right so I can feel comfortable giving dual. Thanks!

Buzz Wagner up in the Dakota's used to sell toe brake pedals for the Chief, and guess you could mount the pedals on the right side. He has now passed away but have heard that his son might be taking the business over and keeping it going. His pedals were "bare bones castings" and would need a lot of work to get ready to mount, but there is no other option in this area.

I have heard that the 11BC and 11CC had as an option brakes on the right side but never seen one. Assume that this was supposed to be directed towards school or training aircraft.
