Champ and Chief Fuel Valve STC Issued Today!

Post by AV8R2 »

So much for the March 8-12 time frame, right? I feel like there should be fireworks or something!

Anyway, I just received a phone call from the Anchorage ACO that they have issued STC SA02370AK to me for the Champ main nose tank valve, Chief main fuel valve and Champ & Chief Aux tank valve.

I will write MIDO my PMA request letter this weekend so by Monday they will receive it. Hopefully by Wed, Thurs. next week I will have everything completed and can start taking orders.

I have some owners names on the list now but since it has been such a long time to get to this point I would not mind it if you all wish to renew your name, address, etc. so the list is current and more complete.

Blue skies and tailwinds to all!

I guess I should have put this up with the original posting but I wanted to make the STC announcement as soon as possible.

The BAR-1-2403 nose tank valve will come with a new stainless steel u-joint, stainless steel stem stop, stem and new BAR-1-3617 copper screen soldered into the valve inlet. The price for this valve is $400.00.

The BAR-100-HD-06 valve that is used for the Chief main tank installation and Chief/Champ aux tank installation is $275.00. In the Chief main valve installation the adapter/mounting bracket (7-839-9-2) that is used in the Sedan will be supplied to mount the valve in the original airframe location.

The BAR-100-HD-06 valve installed in the aux tank position in the cabin wing root frame is $275.00 and comes with a new mounting bracket (BAR-1-2930) that is identical to the original except that it will fit the new design valve. A drawing is included to make the placard that must be fabricated by the installer. The original placard can be used as a pattern since the size and screw/rivet mounting pattern has been duplicated from the original.
