Oleo strut question

Post by Jim McCartney »

Do you have to remove the struts and turn them upside down to fill them with oil? Thanx, Jim

You need to at least release the lower bolt so the lgear (and oleo) can pivot up past horizontal, of course while supporting the aircraft or wing. On my Chief, I additionally need to remove one of the two upper bolts to get enough wiggle room to pivot up past horizontal.
