planning a 2012 trip

Post by brink »

I am looking at the possibility of attending the Aeronca national fly-in in June of 2012, first choice is to get my 7DC flying, but if that don't happen I plan on driving up. I am in the DFW area. and would like to talk to some members about findin a group that wants to attend. I will also be sending ground support, if I am able to complete my flyer. I was planning to stay in the area, and attend other flyins winding up in oshkosh. and on home. in early August. My cell is 817-894-1815 Sunny.

I am planning on flying the Sedan over from Arizona and have heard of another 10-12 Sedans flying to Middletown, so its a pretty large number this year.

There are usually several people from the DFW area going, so hope some of them chime in.

Haven't been there since 08 but hoping to make it this year. Maybe by flying if the weather holds up for more than a day or two and the fuel prices don't kill the incentive.

Hello Friends:
Ya! I herd ya on the fuel. Looks like it may bite me, even if I drive. I am currently down sizing so that may change things, but stuff just will not sell. and I have plenty of it, to sell. even finishing my 7DC is getting up hill for me. due to the weather. Wind every day, and I takes days to cure the paint, O well you boys have herd it all, I know I am Preaching to the Choir. Your welcome to stop by on your way, Granbury is a nice stop over, I may still go if the situation changes, but from the cheap seats, It Dont Look Good! A fellow flier Sunny

David,

I would be very interested in joining the Georgia group. I have a 7AC with 13 gals. of fuel so it it'll be a long trip. Since I'll fly up from Tampa, I'd like to know when y'all will be leaving, from where, and your route.

Thanks and regards.

John, usually leave early Thursday morning. Normally go from JZP(home), to Lafollette, TN, then London-Corbin, KY, then Cynthiana, KY or Snyder, KY. Don't remember the idents, too early this morning! Shoot me a direct email (n8926(at symbol)earthlink.net). David J.

At this point there appears to be several of us flying in from Western Wisconsin and Minnesota, all weather dependent of course. I think the plan is to leave early Thursday morning for what should hopefully be a one day trip and leave Middletown either Sunday or Monday. Haven't checked exactly but looks like about a 7 hour trip from the northwoods.

Mike,

I plan to fly to Middleton, OH from Poplar Grove Airport (C77) in northern Illinois. As it gets closer, let me know the schedule and I may join up with your group.

I'll do that. All tenative right now but I think we expect to meet in Mineral Point, Wisconsin or Lone Rock (not sure) so a stop in Northern Illinois would be most likely next.

Possibility of 4 airplanes from Georgia/Florida, and 4 airplanes from southeast of ATL joining up and arriving at Middletown together. Of course, WX permitting....David J.

I had hoped to have joined David's group by flying from TPA to join up in Jasper, Ga.today. Unfortunately, Florida has been deluged with rain all week and my attempts to get out this morning did not work. Hopefully, I'll join up with them later in the week.

My backup plan may include flying to MWO in my <gasp!!> Cessna.

BTW, anyone wishing to join our group should probably bring their papers from the Probation Officer. We all got ours...

Us guys from 'up north' will probably have to shed our long underwear and parkas before heading south. Will there be any mountain dew in case we need it  ?
