Here's the engine start up. The new 0200 conversion runs like a sewing machine.
Into the air!! Basically it handled pretty well. Great performance compared to the old 65 horse Champ although it's quite a bit heavier with the starter, battery, mufflers, interior, etc. You can see I didn't use a lot of runway. I thought maybe with the short (69") prop performance might suffer but seemed to work Ok and ran up to just short of the redline.

Fiirst Landing! I didn't find the 'no bounce gear' any different than the conventional oleo gear. We'll see later how it handles on hard surace rather than grass.
The final result! My wife is already worried about how I'M going to keep busy now. Hopefully we can make Middletown next year!

). This has been such an obsession for the past five years I haven't had time to do much of anything else, like projects around the house, but at least some of the pressure is off. Once I get some time on it (think I have about .4 now) I'll do some kind of a writeup in the "restoration' thread. Maybe help someone else out with their restoration project or the Buzz Wagner STC, etc. I've learned a lot!!
. I don't think I'd ever tackle another one like it again. Haven't added up the cost in time and $$$ (probably don't want to). At least on my previous project (7AC Champ) all the parts were there. It's certainly not a "Oshkosh winner' but will surfice for me. I especially like the starter rather than having to rely on spinning the prop.
