Preferred Hinge Lubricants?

I was wondering what you all use to lubricate the hinges of the control surfaces (ailerons, rudder, and the up & down thingy). In 1946, the manual recommended "Powdered Graphite" or motor oil.

I'm not too fond of oil because it attracts dirt. What do you all think of graphite in a liquid spray? It's intended for lubricating locks. The liquid carrier penetrates well and then evaporates leaving the graphite.

I was wondering about that too. Powdered graphite has lost favor in the industry because of corrosion issues. Some form of Molybdenum Disulfide may be a good alternative for graphite, but I don't know of a specific product. Cub Crafters recommends LPS-2 for control surface hinges on their new airplanes. It displaces moisture but leaves an oil film to attract dirt.

I think LPS 2 is pretty much a preferred multi purpose lubricant. I tried graphite a few years ago and it was a mess.

LPS-2 it is - bought a can today. I also liked the demo video on their website.

I use a mixture of Antisieze and ACF 50. Makes a bit of a mess, but it penetrates well and carries the graphite into the hinge where it is needed and the mess wipes up.
