My Chief has exit ports for the rudder cables and the elevator trim which are simply ~1" slits in the fabric. I am aware of many fabric covered TW aircraft which use a variety of materials (leather, plastic etc) which stiffen the area where cables exit the fuselage and presumably then protect the fabric from wear, erosion etc. So, three questions:
1) What was the original Aeronca design for this on production Chiefs ?
2) What do all of you Chief owners have on your machines ?
3) Is there a vendor source for this need ?
