cable Hardware

Post by EDGEFLY »

I need a thimble and a swageable two port end for 1/8 inch steel cable. Does anyone know of a vendor who will accept small lot orders for this kind of thing ?
I found them on the Internet but didn't want 1000 pieces of each.

Hey Dale. You're obviously very involved in your Chief research. In addition to this excellent forum, you may wish to consider this additional excellent Aeronca discussion group. It is email based, run by a wonderful guy (Chief owner) out in Calif. You will find many of the persons you already communicate with on this forum and a bunch of other very knowledgeable Aeronca folks. However.......it is very very active, generating many messages a day. Therefore I suggest using a separate email address dedicated just to it. And.....it does occasionally drift off topic. Nothing wrong with that but don't let it discourage you if you're not interested in the direction a topic is taking. You can quickly delete messages that don't interest you. At the following. roger

Roger,

Timely mention of this group. Some time back, you mentioned this to me and since I had an idle Yahoo mail account, I took your advice and devoted it to this purpose. You are certainly correct in that the Westmont group is fast paced and interesting. I have been tracking it ever since you mentioned it before. One problem I'm having though is that I can't seem to post to it. The E-Mail account is active and working- I even sent some test messages to be sure it was functioning both sending and obviously receiving sinceI am reading the Aeronca discussions there. Do you have any idea what this problem is ?

Hey Dale. I think I remember a problem with that host site and Yahoo...but not sure. Why don't you send John Rodkey, the list owner, an email and see if he knows the solution. His email is, poobahster@gmail.com roger

Dale,
I goofed up and bought copper ones and I needed the plated ones for my stainless steel cables I am making. I have an extra thimble too. If you want them shoot me a PM.
