Rear window attachment

I am trying to figure out how the rear side window is supposed to be installed on the Chiefs.
Mine was home made with a bunch of counter sunk hole around the mounting edge of the plexyglass. The glass itself was screwed to the wood and the molding was installed over this with a sealer to keep water out.

Is that the way the rear side window should be mounted in an 11ac?

Mine is held in with the trim ring, and just sealed to the trim.
I changed windows a few years ago, and it was a 30 min job...
