Lost Inside Door Handle

Post by EDGEFLY »

I know this is going to be hard to believe but,,,,,,,I have somehow lost the inside door handle from the passenger door on my Chief. After a quick search of the catalog suppliers, I can only identify one possibility which is a complete handle Assy. for a Stinson. The graphic doesn't make it look like a possible replacement. I guess I may have to steal the knob from the attic door to keep flying. If anyone has a handle please contact me!

Don has them on Ebay all the time... if you are talking about the Aeronca factory handles.

Well, I haven't won the lottery (check back in an hour and 40 mins. I may have ! But as at least a mini triumph, went back to the airport today and found the missing handle about 3 ft behind the seat lying on the belly. Not only that but found the plastic offset washer which goes between it and the door surface a foot or so short of that. Everything is back together now and I managed to install the new latch plates which I have been working on for a while as well. One happy Chief and me too!

Mark, last night when things weren't going so well, I did find the part by Don on ebay. He has both the handle assembly and the individual handles as well. Thanks for the tip, it sure looked like I needed a source yesterday.
