Upgrade from EDO 1400 go bigger?

I have a 7CCM with a lycoming o-235c with edo 1400.
This plane is remarquable for it's take off and performance.
You have as much fun as a cub knowing you paid 1/3 for it.

I weigh 220, the floats are great but I would like to know if
anyone went bigger.
Maybe PK1600 1800 etc. My 1400's are immaculate not a ding
for 1946 floats.

Does anyone know if one could put bigger floats??

I'm sure you could. Have seen PK1500's, edo 1650's, and even Aqua(?) 1900's on a Champ. Most likely all done on a FAA form 337, but that should be easy up in Canada. I've got a photo at home of that Champ on 1900's if you want to see.

Would you sell the 1400's if/when you up-graded?

Hi Nathan

I've just restored my champ fusalage to mint condition and am very
proud of my bird. New wings went on last year before I bought it.
I will be definately selling my edo's if I hook onto a pair of larger ones.
I would very much like to see the picture you mentioned.

7HC or 7FC on Auqa 1900's

The floats just say "1900 Float" I think

That 7HC was a cool lookin Champ. Dang if the thing didn't have a little wheel up front to steer with. Certainly would feel different to fly I bet.
