Re: Any Sedan owners ever make their own jack pads?

Hi Joe, Airplanes on jacks have always been way scary to me. As an alternate to the jacks you might consider the method used to lift a champ up one gear at a time. Using a engine hoist and one of the tie downs you lift the airplane by the engine mount while holding one wing down at the tie down ring...

Re: elevator trim cables

About one third of the Champs I've looked at have crossed trim cables under the stabilizer (including mine). If you route the cables strictly according to the diagram in the manual they will end up crossed to get proper direction of travel. As some one points out above, it's when you change from fla...

Might want to check your calendar again; Saturday is the 19th and Sunday is the 20th this year in May.

Dick,

Check out "www.MyGoFlight.com". Kinda pricey but looks like what you're looking for.

Re: Champ Auxiliary Fuselage Tank

My Champ, N83806, has the fuselage aux tank. I'll take a picture and try to post it.
Actually, except for the fact I would have to replace the headliner, I would remove
it. I've never used it.

Re: Goodyear Brake parts

Those Goodyear Brake Clips are problematic at best. I had a C310 with Goodyear brakes and I swear I showered brake clips all over Virginia 'til I upgraded to Clevelands. My Champ has the Goodyear wheels and someone (before me) came up with a very clever way to safety wire the clips in place. If I ca...

Avon "Skin-so-Soft" lotion is really good for removing left over adhesive from labels and stickers and such.

A-65 to C85-12 Engine mount

If I go to a C-85-12 on my A65 Champ, will it require a new engine mount or will the C-85 bolt up to the stock mount? I would envision using one of the light weight starters and a total loss electric system. I thought this has been asked before but couldn't find it in the threads. Thanks, Pat Austin

Mnflyer,
Thanks for the reply. I think I will do as you suggest and measure the old spring first. Somewhere on this topic someone posted the measurements for a new spring.

Oleo Springs, again

It's been a while since the subject of spring quality from Wag and Univair has been discussed. N83806 has a decided list to starboard and I have determined that it is the oleo spring (thanks to all the good info earlier in this thread). Has anyone used a WagAero spring lately? Have there been any qu...
