Re: Chief Door Restraints
For the time, I am going with Paul's suggestion. The doors were reskinned and the geometry changed. It will take some thought. Replaced outside door handles with an antique Ford style that worked and looks good. Will post low pixel photo soon. AI signed off last week. Inaugural flight next week afte...

Chief Door Restraints
Looking for input on what to install on the doors to prevent the wind from damaging same. A restraint anchored at the top of the door to the airframe or a catch latch on the exterior and the rear lift strut are being considered. Any ideas appreciated. After 3 1/2 years of restoration, N4369E may be ...

Re: Crunch Time Door latches
Thanks, Paul. Was thinking along those lines. Leak is around the stem. The hassle lies in filling and draining the aux. tank for test and repair

Re: Crunch Time Door latches
Purchased one. Appears to be workable. Wings hung, secured and rigged with struts. Ailerons next. All tail surfaces hung, rigged and safetied. A&P this weekend for his survey. Maybe see if I remember how to fly it in about a month. Photos after logs endorsed. Fuel shutoff giving me fits. Packing...

Crunch Time Door latches
Completed Fuselage, cowling, powerplant, etc. goes to hangar next weekend to start hanging new wings and rigging of restored control surfaces. Been looking for at least one door latch for years. No cigar.
Is there anyone who has possession, knowledge or information? Thanks in advance all.

Re: Aeronca hub caps Wanted
Flash forward to today. Could anyone update persons who might now have that part? I need two A-38520. While I am hoping, I would very much like the dust caps also. Thanks, everyone.

Re: chafe tape holes
I marked centers on the chafe tape clamped to the cowling/ nose bowl, etc and punched correct sized holes with gasket punch. Make sure punch is sharp and backed with scrap wood. Then treated with silicone spray. Perhaps that will resist the inevitable oil stains.

Re: oleo spring length
Thanks everyone. infrequently I do something smart and sending the gear to David Rude was definitely one of those times. The condition of the gear was worse than I knew and Mr. Rude got it done, got it done right and got it done fast.

Nose Bowl
OK, guys and gals, time to part with that aluminum nose bowl that's been gathering dust for a while. N4369E is nearing completion and the glass nose bowl is just not worthwhile repairing. Finishing color scheme on empennage and FWF is next. Thanks for your consideration.

Re: oleo spring length
Thanks, guys. Where else would I spend my money?
Wings, empennage, ailerons all restored, covered and painted. Fuselage stripped, media blasted and three coats of Stits epoxy and in first coat Poly Spray. All new hardware, cables and pulleys. Hope I remember how to fly.

latest annual
It is never my intention to diss anyone. This post is in response to my latest annual. For many years, apparently, before and right after I purchased NC4369E, an 11CC, the aircraft was perpetually pencil whipped. The good part is that I had one very knowledgeable and caring AP/IA who recently went w...
