Sean, are you buying this plane from Dick Johnson? He used to work for Champion when they were on the field in Osceola WI and now he flies a Citation X. I think he's on the airport board and knows later model Champs and Citabrias.

i am from flex, what does earl mean "wrote a book"? never lived in Dallas, was always Fla based. Annual checklist would be nice, mail is capairllc AT yahoo.com (replace the AT with @)

Just sent Sean a very long email with loads of attachments, like the L-16 POH and an annual check form, so he will be busy reading for a while.

Sean asked me if I knew Dick Johnson in another thread. Yes I do, I've known and worked with him for about 16 years, we flew Hawkers together.
I don't know the airplane by "N" number, I would have to see the plane to recognize it. I don't know any details about it other than Dick rebuilt it. I'm sorry that I don't know Kurt either.

I have not gone up to get it yet. It came through the prebuy with nothing to complain about. The only issue is when the nav lights are on and you turn the landing lights on the nav goes out. i airline on the 7th of april to pick it up. I never got any emails from you Joe. any chance of getting that inspection sheet? I am planing on taking several days and seeing several friends to get it home. by the way two things...i saw a post about the door, can it be flown without it and what will it take to make it night legal?

(13) An approved safety belt with an approved metal-to-metal latching device for each occupant 2 years of age or older.
(14) For small civil airplanes manufactured after July 18, 1978, an approved shoulder harness for each front seat.
(15) An emergency locator transmitter, if required by §91.207.
(16) For normal, utility, and acrobatic category airplanes with a seating configuration, excluding pilot seats, of 9 or less, manufactured after December 12, 1986, a shoulder harness for -- (i) Each front seat that meets the requirements of §23.785 (g) and (h) of this chapter in effect on December 12, 1985; (ii) Each additional seat that meets the requirements of §23.785(g) of this chapter in effect on December 12, 1985.
(17) For rotorcraft manufactured after September 16, 1992, a shoulder harness for each seat that meets the requirements of §27.2 or §29.2 of this chapter in effect on September 16, 1991.
(18 ) Approved position lights.
(19) If the aircraft is operated for hire, one electric landing light.
(20) An adequate source of electrical energy for all installed electrical and radio equipment.
(21) One spare set of fuses, or three spare fuses of each kind required, that are accessible to the pilot in flight.

PS.. When is the next airshow --I won't tell it wasn't in an Aeronca. We lit a beacon later in the day in case you wanted to fly at night.
