bernie: The machinist at the shop is already stressed out from other projects for me. I need to leave him alone until he has to do my oleo bushings.

Ron,
I found a spare dust cap. If you still need one let me know.
When I install the caps I use two cotter pins and bend the ends to the inside of the axel.

It appears someone did not bend the cotter key correctly and the inside of mine got gouged up badly.

I am currently out of town until the weekend. I know I have some of these dust caps in my hangar. I will check when I get home.

Still looking for a good 158-01000 cleveland dust cap, as mine is badly grooved from the cotter pin. Almost cut in half.
Used on wheel numbers 4028-3050-3040. The MDB wheel dust caps do not fit and have sent both Pauls and Brians back to them.
As a last resort I will weld the groove up, but would rather replace it with a good one if possible.

Check with KRN Aviation, 480-961-8946. They say that they have
4 in stock. Have bought from them before and their prices seem fare
for the things I bought. They are listed as new surplus.
