Re: Olive drab paint

We have a Stinson L-5 in the shop for rebuild using the Polyfiber. Our painter is using the flattening agent for the appearance of originality per the owner. So far he has done the wings and they look good. I'll try and post pics.

Serial number listing for 7AC series aircraft

Is there a serial number listing for the 7AC series out there? I have a data plate from a 7AC that was given to me by a friend years ago. I looked up the serial number on the FAA website and they do not have a listing for it. Any other way to birddog the serial number?

What is the core value of a O-200

I have an O-200 that I bought to rebuild many years ago, but my plans are changing and I may go in a different direction. Does anyone know the current value of a O-200 core? It has all logs since new, mags, carb, starter, vacuum pump, first run Superior cyls with new style pushrod seals. It was remo...

Re: tailwheels revisited

"I install them with a log entry. Per CAR 4, tail wheels are not a regulated item."
Paul, can you elaborate on this in regards to the installation of tailwheels not listed on the TCDS?

Thanks,
Dave

Re: L-3 wing Spar information needed

A friend is trying to ID some unknown spars. He thought they were T-cart, they weren't. Then he thought they were Champ spars, but we have an example of a Champ and they weren't. They are similar, but the strut fitting attachment is different. Someone suggested L-3 and I was just looking for a pictu...

Re: Champ restoration

First of all relax, good thing you found it. Sounds like you are in A&P school so you have some resources to ask. Evaluate the whole fuselage, then formulate a repair plan. One step at a time. A lot of things have to happen before you light the torch- like designing the repair, jigging, getting ...

Anyone ever seen on of these? Aeronca Dealer Binder

I was given this leather bound Aeronca dealer book by my old boss 10 years ago. It is full of all kinds of behind-the-scenes documentation about being a Aeronca dealer both pre-war and post-war. It has all the business paperwork of Willards Flying Service. It describes how to sell an Aeronca airplan...

Goodyear 1500# wheel and brake set for sale

I have a set of hydraulic Goodyear 1500# wheels and brakes for sale. They are off a C-140, but do not know if there is anything compatible with an Aeronca installation. Make an offer. I am cleaning out the hangar. Send me a PM if interested.

Real World Sedan Performance?

What kind of performance can one expect from a stock 15AC with the O-300A. E.W about 1200 lbs. I had previously been looking for a 7AC, but could not come to an agreement with the owner and my mission has changed. Now a Sedan has presented itself and it looks like a nice ship. My mission is 2 seats(...
