I'm going to add one to my Champ also. I run a mix of auto fuel and AVgas. If you spill one drop it stinks to high heaven inside the plane. I think the cap vent even lets a small amount of fumes inside when your flying. Maybe this will help some

Thanks

7AC-BCM For Sale in Arkansas

I have come to the realization that as long as I have the Champ I will probably never finish my RV-9A I'm building and I need the money to finish the RV-9A anyway. This a a 1946 7AC converted to a BCM ( 85 hp ) with no electrics. It cruises at 100 MPH at 2400 RPM or 95MPH at 2350. It is a very nice ...

The parts are less than $200.00 including the windows. I went to a friends today and checked out his Champ so now I have a good idea what's involved. Thanks for the input everyone.

Sliding left window

Someone in the past removed the sliding side window and replaced it with a solid one piece window. How much trouble is it going to be to put the slider back? The window at the bottom looks like it was glued under the fabric. Is it possible to put the channels back without recovering the fuselage? Al...

I recieved my new panel from Wag-Aero and it looks like it will work fine. It will need a little smoothing on the top radii but I can handle that with no problem.

I haven't noticed the elevator problem yet. I wonder if my 135 lbs. is the reason. I have an 85hp with no electrical in my Champ. The fellow I bought the Champ from always wheel landed on pavement. He advised me to do the same. I am still learning how to handle my Champ as well. I only have 2 hrs so...

Need Panel Blank

I need to order a replacement panel for my Champ and was wondering if there is a better source than Wag-Aero. I hate starting out with something that I know is goiunf to be a problem.

Thanks

Update

Well I flushed the tank out on my Champ today. Here is all the things I have done to eliminate the starting problem. New flexible fuel and primer lines. Rebuilt primer. Changed to an all metal gascolator because the glass in mine was cracked. New gaskets and delrin needle in carb. Cleaned the carb t...

I checked the hose the last time I pulled the carb. It looked good as far as I can see. I'll look with a mirror too inside the tank.

Here I go.

How to clean fuel Tank

After 3 weeks of trying to keep my Champ running I've decided there is crud in the tank that keeps clogging up the carb. I'm going to drain the tank and rinse it out and try to flush whatever is in there out. The only thing I know is to rinse with fresh clean fuel. Any suggestions?? :? Thanks Jim in...

The fabric is Seconite or Stitts version (1986) and in good shape. The problem was in painting the plane using acrylic enamel automotive paint.

Hey Pablo, You hit the nail on the head. I ran my headset through my Sigtronics portable intercom and plugged the PTT button into the intercom. Now the Icom A-24 is clear as a bell with no cabin noise.

One more problem solved with everyone's help.

Orlin your setup is exactly what I have in mind. I have an Icom A-24 and Sig intercom. The 396 would be great in the panel. If I stay with just a battery and no charging system can I run the GPS mounted in the Air-Gizmo and be legal? What do I need to do after I install the Air-Gizmo? Can my AI sign...
